So...hopefully this thing won't eat this post this time. Bri had a LOT of visitors this weekend! Almost every grandma she has came to see her. Mike's mom came back from Vancouver and went to see her, and plus my grandma and greatgrandma came. And my grandpa too. We also finished yet another roll of film, so we'll get that developed soon.
Ok, on to the growing baby. Still growing, she's 1.920kg, which is 4 lbs 4 oz (we found a conversion chart). We gave her a bath tonight too. Ok, so it's not her FIRST bath, but it's her first bath with us trying. Then while we were doing that, she reached right up, grabbed hold of her tube, and yanked it out. Owie. Then she cried. And we fussed over her, and she stopped crying. Poor little kid, her life is so tough already. The nurses said that they'd leave the tube out unless she needs it. She's done four bottles in a row now, so she might not need it anymore. But - the nurse did say not to expect it to stay out. As it turns out, they DID take her off the heart meds on the 22nd. She has to be off those for a week (which will be Thursday) without any repeat apnea before she can come home. Also, it's only two days she has to take the breast or bottle at every feeding.
So the things Brianna has to do before she can come home:
*reach 2kg (almost there!)
*do 16 bottle/breast in a row (4 so far!)
*stay off the heart meds a week (that's Thursday)
Now, this means that there is a good chance Brianna can come home this weekend...but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. Starting tomorrow I'm going to be bussing up to the hospital in the afternoons and Mike will meet me there after. Yay! So I get to see her lots more, which means you people will get longer updates. ;)
