Wow! Brianna is two months old today! Where does all the time go? She's getting fussier as time goes on though. I read that babies get fussy between 6-8 weeks, but with Bri it's hard to tell when she's developed to a 6-8 week old baby. I guess all I can take from that is that most babies have a two week fussy period.
So, according to my book this month, baby Brianna is falling behind (for a term baby). According to the book she SHOULD be able to:
*Follow an object in an arc from one side of her head to straight above her -she can do this, but gets distracted easily
*Respond to a bell in some way - she either startles at loud noises or looks around. She'll turn her head and look at me if I talk to her.
*Vocalize in ways other than crying - not positive if she does this. Probably. She doesn't go 'ooo' or anything, but she has mastered 'erg', 'blurph' and 'quack' (with the help of her pacifier).
*Smile in response to a smile - she's working on this one. She's started smiling here and there, but we're not sure if she's smiling AT anyone, or just smiling.
She can do one of the PROBABLY be able to:
*Raise head 45 degrees when on her tummy - she can't do it for a long time, but she can do it.
The other probably is follow an object from one side of her face to the other, and she can't do that. Like I said last month, there are two other categories (POSSIBLY and MAY EVEN be able to do), but she certainly can't do any of those things yet. They're things like roll over, laugh etc.
Rob has new photos to put up (and one old one, he just kept forgetting about), and he's also going to enable the archive function soon. That way you'll be able to access all the older stuff that's been put up. We're also thinking of re-organizing the photos page into monthly pages or something so people who have crappy access won't get hung up trying to download 315 pictures (300 of which they've already seen 800 times) all on one page. He's going to come up and visit, so we'll probably goof around with it then.
