At 9:06 PM, Jennifer scribbled...

First the sad news. Shadow Chaser had to be put to sleep on Friday. We miss her, but are sure that she doesn't hurt anymore. She had lost a lot of weight for her tiny frame, and she stopped eating in the end. We remember how great of a little cat she was, and how much fun we had with her. She was my only friend in Windsor and made me very happy while I was living there. Jeeps loved to chase her around and lick her head. He also misses her greatly. If you have the time, go and look at the picture of her. She was a very pretty cat, and we thank Susie for allowing us to enjoy her for the time we could. We showed her in February and she had a promising show career ahead of her. She enjoyed the show very much and made her Premiership that weekend. We were looking forward to making her an International Premier this September. She touched many lives, and we will all miss her little beeps.

On to happier news. Brianna turned 3 months yesterday! Where does the time go? It seems like not that long ago she was three weeks and coming home from the hospital. She's starting to outgrow some of her 3 month size stuff now, although there is still some of the larger 3 months clothes that are still too big. It's amazing how big of a range there is in baby clothes. We have also started putting her in her crib at night, and she spent half of last night in it. She got very fussy after her 3 am munch, and I had a hard time getting her back to sleep. Fun fun. She was very content to stare at her aquarium, but I wasn't going ot get up every 7 minutes to turn the darn thing back on (it's on a timer for battery saving). If you haven't done so recently, go look at the pictures of Bri from birth to now. She's grown sooo much. I'm hoping to have the format of the page changed so that the pictures from three to six months are on a different page so you people with dial-up don't have to wait so long. Also, we have new pictures that will be sent off to Rob soon, so keep an eye out for those. :)

Even better news I'm a moron (for those of you thinking this is not news, I know where you live) and read my book wrong. The stuff that I thought Bri was supposed to be doing at the beginning of her second month, she is actually supposed to be doing by the END of the second month, which is now. So, I think she might even be a bit ahead. Let's see.
By the end of this month my baby SHOULD:
*smile in response to your smile - she does. Very very cute. She also smiles when we change her diaper.
*Follow an object in an arc 6 inches above her face to the midline - she will, if reluctantly.
*Respond to a bell in some way - she does this also. It's nice to know her ears work. When Mike's car alarm went off and she didn't wake up, I was worried there.
*vocalize in ways other than crying - she's just starting to do this. She meows and goes oaah.

Here are the things she can do ahead of the rest:
PROBABLY be able to:
*Follow an object past the midline - I think she does this, but it's hard to keep her interest that long.
*On stomach, lift head 45 degrees - I think she can do this, but since I've never put a protractor to her head, I'm not positive. Now that she enjoys sitting up so much, she doesn't play on her tummy as often.
MAY EVEN be able to:
*Hold head steady when upright - so close. She's holding it 90% of the time, so maybe that counts. Sometimes she still flops.
*Grasp a rattle held to tips of fingers - she's done this for quite a while.

Things to look forward to this month - supporting her head on her arms when she's on her tummy, rolling over (she's sooo close), more goo goo noises and giggles. If nothing exciting happens in the next little while, I will be sure to post an update after her doc's appt on the 28th.
