Brianna had her visit from the Infant Development people yesterday. Apparently, it's just a service that Durham region carries (I think Durham is Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering), so if we move - ha, WHEN we move, they won't be seeing her anymore. Anyhow, they come to your house to assess babies at risk of being deveopmentally delayed. Bri's only at risk because she was premature, and since she wasn't horribly premature (Janice - the chick I'll be seeing - says they usually see babies born at like 24 weeks and stuff), she's probably going to continue to be fine. So, they watched Bri play, and helped her roll over, and Bri thought they were great (there was a student along also). I showed them my Baby Bach video, and they thought that was cool. They also liked Bri's inchworm. They said that Bri looks pretty darn good, and that she should develop normally along her corrected age timeline. They are going to find me a play group around here, yay. So now I get to meet people, then move, hurrah. I've wanted to get Bri in a playgroup, but I was waiting until she got old enough to notice other babies. She notices herself in the mirror now, so other babies shouldn't be too far behind. They are going to come back September 10th, and every month after that, until we move, or decide that she doesn't need to be seen anymore. She probably doesn't need to be seen at all, but it's free, and I don't think it's going to do her any harm. :) Plus, they will lend her toys, so she'll get some new stuff to fling around without me shelling out the $$$ to get it. :)
Of other interest - Jenn G had her baby on August 10th. At 2ish...now whether that's am or pm (I think pm), I'm not sure, because my answering machine sucks butt. They named her Katelyn (probably not spelled like that) something something...and she was 6 pounds, something....I need a new machine. Sigh. I haven't gotten ahold of her yet, I'm sure she's kind of busy.
