At 2:12 PM, Jennifer scribbled...

Bri is six months old today! Half a year! I think it's getting high time for a new baby, the novelty of this one is wearing off. :)

Bri tried Barley cereal on Saturday. She thinks it's gross, but less gross than rice. Today, she liked it so much, she knocked the bowl out of my hand and spilled it all over her leg.

She's learned a few more things over the weekend as well - How to suck her thumb properly (fingers tucked in) and she found her feet. Now on to your regularly scheduled update.

Bri is falling a bit behind this month, but not enough to be all alarmed or anything. Especially since I follow the book at her chronological age, not her corrected.
Things Bri SHOULD be able to do:
*Hold head steady when upright - she's been able to do this for a long time now. Bri's strong point is her head/neck control/strength.
*On stomach, raise chest, supported by ams - yup, although she hates to do it for more than 3.5 seconds.
*Roll over - no, and it's the bain of my existance. I'm sooo sure she could do it if she really wanted to.
*Pay attention to a raisin or other very small object - untested, as that doesn't seem very safe to me. I'm sure she'd eat it, then choke and die.
*Squeal in delight - she does, and it's so cute.
*Reach for an object - she's been reaching for a long time, but in the past few weeks she's been refining her grab so she can take it from you in the first try.
*Smile spontaneously - Bri's the smile machine. She smiles at everybody.
*Grasp a rattle held to back or tips of fingers - yup...doesn't this go hand in hand (no pun intended) with the reaching thing?

Will PROBABLY be able to do:
*Bear some weight on legs - for a VERY short time.
*Hold head level with body when pulled to sitting - she does this about 95% of the time.
*Say a-goo or other vowel-consonant combo - she said a-doo clearly once. But mostly it's aaaaappptt.
*Razz - Bri buzzes her tongue all the time. She thinks it's funny.

May POSSIBLY be able to:
*Turn in the direction of a voice - she does this when I talk to her. Poor kid thinks her name is Pooker.

The developmental people are coming again tonight (it's been a month already), so hopefully I'll post up about that later this evening.
