A few more little things, then on to the big things. :) Bri's a crazy little baby, rolling all over the place these days. She tried Veal last night, and that was ok. It didn't make her gag at least.
The developmental lady came last night, and she says Bri is doing very well. She said that she hasn't seen a baby this young so interested in just looking at stuff. She moved Bri to a crawling position (which I have been trying myself, to no success) and Bri didn't scream, so maybe she'll get the hang of it soon. The other things she was going to work on, Bri could already do (pincher grasp, taking things out of other things). She said Bri should figure out what "no" means soon. She comes back the 22nd of January.
On to the big update news, Bri is NINE MONTHS OLD! Yipes. She's getting so big. Here's what the book says Bri should be doing by the end of the eighth month:
SHOULD be able to do:
*bear some weight on legs when upright - she can, but just for a little while.
*feed self a cracker - she fed herself a bread crust once, so sure.
*pass an object from one hand to the other - she does this all the time.
*pick up a small object - she's always picking up little fluffs of cat hair.
*turn in the direction of a voice - done this for awhile now.
*look for a dropped object - I noticed her do this yesterday when she threw something of her saucer.
Will PROBABLY be able to do:
*object if you try to take a toy away - oh yes.
*work to get a toy out of reach - yup.
*play peakaboo - for hours.
May POSSIBLY be able to do:
*pick up a small object with any part of thumb and forefinger (pincer grasp) - yup yup.
There's things in the probably, possibly and may even sections that she's nowhere close to doing. Such as talking, walking, sitting up by herself and such. I think she'll be able to sit by herself within the next few months, she's trying really hard.
We take her for her checkup in a few hours, so I will update again then.
