There are posts below this one. Read those too. :)
Bri is TEN months old today! Sigh. She's so big! We gave her some Shepard's Pie for dinner last night and she poked it warily. She didn't mush it all over her head or throw it on the floor or even eat it. She just stuck her index finger in it a few times. She is still trying to crawl and not going anywhere. She's up on her hands and knees and rocking, but no going. She's very close to sitting up on her own too, just not quite there either. Bri says "da", "doh", "ma", "na" and "la". Oh, and Ptttthhhpppbb. Here's what the book says. At the end of the ninth month Bri:
SHOULD be able to:
*work to get a toy out of reach - she does this all right. Works until she screams.
*Look for a dropped object - I saw her do that once. But that's enough.
Will PROBABLY be able to:
*object if you try to take a toy away - oh yeah.
*stand holding on to someone or something - for less than 2 seconds.
*pick up tiny object with any part of thumb and forefinger - she's been able to do this for awhile; eveything but Cheerios.
*Play peekaboo - for at least a month.
*say mama or dada indiscriminately - not sure. She still says "dadadada" not just "dada".
She can't do anything else. Such as sit up on her own, pull up, cruise, play patty cake, drink from a cup, understand no or talk. She seems a little behind in gross motor skills. But I have noticed she "talks" more than other babies and is good with her pointer finger. The developmentalist comes on the 22nd, and Bri doesn't have another well baby visit until March. But I'm sure she'll do lots of fun things between now and then. :)
