Serena had her regularly scheduled baby appointment on Tuesday. With all her clothes and diaper on, she is an astonishing 19 1/4 pounds. Brianna was just over 20 pounds at a year. Freakish giant baby. She is also 27" long. She got her third shot, and just an evil glare at the doctor. No crying again, probably because he legs are so fat she can't feel it.
She sits up ok when you put her there, but still has a tendancy to fling herself backwards or sideways. She has gained control of her arms finally, and uses them to take off her socks and eat them.
She has eaten more flavours of fruit than I can recount, they make them in weird combinations like Apple Mango Kiwi and such. She started meats with Chicken being the first on Wednesday, not a big fan. Baby food meat is probably a lower grade than catfood. Blech. She needs some teeth so she can eat the chunky food.
Brianna has had a couple more painting classes, she is a little follower. There is another little girl that always ends up with her hands in the paint by the end of the class, and Bri just waits until she starts in and then Bri goes too. Weirdo. Skating is going alright, Bri does not like to listen much. :/ She has taken to using a skate guard to whack pylons against the boards. Heh. We've decided after this set of classes is over, we're just going to take her to free skates to practice. Maybe we'll enroll her again next year.
I missed Serena's book update (I had planned to do it with the doctor's appointment, but then we pushed the appointment up a week), so here it is now.
SHOULD be able to:
*keep head level with body when pulled to sitting - oui.
*say ah-goo or similar - I think she can, but I haven't heard much talking recently. It's mostly lip buzzing and possessed baby noises.
Will PROBABLY be able to:
*bear some eight on legs - yup.
*sit without support - a little.
May POSSIBLY be able to:
*work to get a toy out of reach - she flops around like a fish.
*turn in the direction of a voice - yup.
*babble gagaga or similiar - she has said mamamamama, but as I mentioned before, not much recently.
And no May Evens for her. The things she can't do yet are feed herself a cracker, pass a cube, pull up to a stand, get into a sitting position and a few other not so interesting things.
