At 4:19 PM, Jennifer scribbled...

Katie is two months old! I can't beleive how fast the time has gone. She had her appointment yesterday, she's 10 pounds, 12 ounces and still appears to be 22" long. But that may be just the difference in the way the midwife measured her and the doctor. Babies are slippery. The shots made her unhappy.

Bri's doing well in school, she has enrichment for a half hour twice a week. They have her read something, then she is to write something about what she read in a journal. I can really see a difference in the way she writes her letters, although she still doesn't like to sound words out on her own. She really hates making mistakes. She's also in skating again, back with the purple penguins. She skates ok, she's very stiff legged and falls down to stop. Takes after me. We plan to take Serena a time or two this winter.

Here's Katie's book update:
SHOULD be able to:
*smile responsively - yup. Adorable.
*follow an object in an arc above head - seems like.
*respond to a bell in some way - while we know she's not deaf, she has developed selective hearing. Probably because if she didn't she'd never sleep with all the screaming going on in here.
*vocalize in ways other than crying - yup. Aoo.

PROBABLY be able to:
*lift head 45 degrees when on stomach - seems like.
*follow object past the midline - I dunno.

MAY EVEN be able to:
*hold head steady when upright - pretty much.

May POSSIBLY be able to:
*smile spontaneously - I think so. She smiles when she sees us, but it may be we're already smiling and she's just responding.

Things she's not advanced in involve rolling over, and making more happy noises.
